Frequently Asked Questions

Proactive Tick Prevention

Island Inn takes proactive steps to help maintain the property’s outdoor areas. Our licensed pest-control provider treats the grounds within the property’s tree perimeter on a regular schedule, and our team continues to monitor the property throughout the season.

While ticks are present throughout Martha’s Vineyard and other areas of the Northeast, Island Inn has not received any reports of tick encounters on the property this season. Complimentary tick repellent and tick-identification information are also available at the front office.

Guests planning to explore trails, wooded areas, beaches, or areas with tall grass are encouraged to use insect repellent, avoid dense vegetation, conduct regular tick checks, and follow guidance from local public-health authorities.
